The Hanged Man - 12

The fool in a bid to find spiritual truths, 

let herself be suspended by only her hooves.

For nine days she hung between this world and that,

til the world disappeared and her soul became fat.

 

The fool was restored by surrendering thus,

and time was enough to make sense of the fuss.

To step back and gracefully let a thing be,

was to know it quite differently, fool could now see.  

 

It's a paradox this, as by not in fact trying,

you accomplish the task for which you were vying.

And truthfully dear, and without a doubt,

you cannot know for sure how things will turn out.
